PEGGY HOYT, J.D., M.B.A.
Peggy is the oldest of four daughters born to John and Trudy Hoyt. She was born in Dearborn, Michigan, and spent her first ten years as a "PK," or "preachers kid," before her father joined The Humane Society of the United States. Peggy graduated with an A.A. degree from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia; earned a B.B.A. and M.B.A. from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida; and earned a J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Today, Peggy and her law partner, Randy Bryan, own and operate Hoyt & Bryan, LLC. Her law firm limits its practice to estate planning and administration for individuals, married couples and life alliance partners, including special needs planning, pet planning, elder law and guardianships. She also works in the areas of business creation, succession and exit planning, as well as real estate, corporate and equine law.
Peggy is the author of a one-of-a kind book called All My Children Wear Fur CoatsHow to Leave a Legacy for Your Pet, available through her law office, your favorite bookstore or by visiting www.LegacyForYourPet.com. addition, she serves as trustee to Stetson Universitys Business School Foundation and serves on the executive council of the General Practice, Solo and Small Firm section as well as the Animal Law Committee of the Florida Bar. Peggy is also an advisory board member to 2ndChance4Pets, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting seniors and their pets (www.2ndchance4pets.org & www.petgardian.com).
Peggy lives with her husband, Joe Allen in Central Florida. Her passion is her pets and she enjoys spending her "free" time playing with her wild mustang horses, Reno and Tahoe, and her Premarin rescue, Sierra; her dogs, Kira, Corkie, Tiger and Fiona; and her cats, Beijing, Bangle, Cuddles, Tommy, Shamu and Spook.
She is active in a variety of organizations, including the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys WealthCounsel, Apex Expeditions, Sunbridge Strategies and the Central Florida Estate Planning Council. She is a regular speaker on team training and estate planning topics and is also a contributor of practice management materials. In
